Nancy Spungen didn’t start life with a lot going for her. She was very smart, but also very emotionally disturbed. At 15, she was diagnosed with schizophrenia, and would shortly pick up a heroin addiction, an activity that she would share with her future boyfriend, Sid Vicious. As a couple, they were volatile and violent, drawing Sid’s attention further and further from The Sex Pistols, which was rapidly disintegrating on the road in America at the start of 1978.
